Ambition
Publisher D’Jonge Hond, together with Artez Press request Lopezlab to create the design concept for a publication series on iconic fashion designers from the Dutch Scene. The booklets provide students of fashion and fashionistas alike full access to the world of the creators, in high quality images and thoroughly researched text contributions, and for a small price.

Approach
Lopezlab chooses the handy pocket size with friendly rounded corners as format for the books, and develops a graphic almost abstract cover concept that immediately creates the uniform feeling of a series, while catching the essence of each designer.
Key part of this product development was the packaging; the series would be wrapped in a designed box, that functions as display station when opened. The presentation method calls to the attention of the fashion books series with alluring presence in any bookshop, fashion boutique or design and life style store.

Impact
The series is successful amongst fashion students, fashionistas and features in many museums as part of exhibitions. The expanding series currently presents the work of seven iconic designers, ranging from Oilily, to Marlies Dekkers and Vlisco. For the international market several German, English and French editions have appeared.
